Monthly Vintner's Dinner

Did you know the very first vineyard in the East Bay was in Fremont at the Gallegos Vineyard (later Palmdale) in Irvington with origins that go back to 1797 as an off shoot of Mission San Jose. The ruins (courtesy of the 1906 earthquake) can be seen at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Osgood Road.

In keeping with the strong connections that the Essanay Café has with local history we have created a very popular event on the last Sunday of every month that brings local wines into our cuisine. As can be seen in the menu example shown below each course is carefully crafted to pair superbly with wines from around the Bay. As these events are hugely popular reservations are essential to enjoy the Vintner's Dinner series.

Wines will be introduced by an experienced Sommelier and will be offered at a special evening pricing through the Longevity Wine Club.

Take-home wine tasting notes and recipes will also be provided. $65 per person (not including tax and tip) Reservations Only
